Rain Boots

This is one trend I felt I had to talk about. Not so much because every celeb out there is wearing rain boots to set a fashion statement, but because I see everyone wearing them here on my college campus! I always thought rain boots were ugly, but nowadays they come in so many styles and colors that there's a pair out there for everyone. Even high-end brands like Coach make rain boots.

Rain boots used to just serve the purpose of keeping your feet from getting wet in the rain. But not they are seen as a sense of style, accomplishing the task of making your feet warm, dry, and toasty, as well as make you stylish.

And rain boots aren't just for college students. I've seen the cutest rain boots for little kids. Rain boots serve style and function for those of all ages. The practicality of rain boots will always make them stylish and the patterns and designs that go on them will only change with the times. Rain boots have been around since the early 19th century and have served many purposes over the years. Although they have been around for a long time, they will surely be around for years and years to come.

Fashion Scarves

Most people know scarves as something we wear over our winter coats to keep our necks warm in the winter. But over the past few years, scarves have taken on a whole new personality. Scarves have become one of the biggest fashion accessories, now made to be worn in all weather with all outfits.

I'll admit, at first, I thought the idea of wearing a scarf in the middle of a summer with a tank top in 100 degree weather was the dumbest, most ridiculous thing ever. But the more and more i saw celebrities and even friends follow this trend, the more it grew on me. Now i am completely obsessed with fashion scarves!

They have ones of every texture, every pattern, and one to go with every outfit. You can wear them with tank tops, t-shirts, sweaters, or winter coats. I don't think I've gone to single place in the last six months without seeing at least one person wearing a scarf, even in the heat we had this summer. This is once again another trend that took time for me to get used to, but now has become a major part of my wardrobe. When I feel like an outfit is missing something, or I need something to spice up a plain, boring shirt, the fashion scarf comes to my rescue, saving the day, and me from another boring outfit.

Menswear

Now this is something i'm still on the fence about: Menswear. Don't get me wrong, some of the menswear trends I love, like blazers or big pocket t-shirts. But some just confuse me. Whatever celebrity wants to wear a mens suit on the red carpet seems a tad out of their mind to me. So for this post, I'll just stick to the men's trends that i find appealing, sorry to all those who love mens suits and fedoras.

Okay, so I already talked about my love for blazers. I've seen tons of celebrities, as well as even non-celebs wear this trend and have it look great. One of my favorite looks I've seen over the past few seasons was wearing a blazer overtop of a formal dress. I've seen Kim Kardashian do this over and over again, and I love it! Besides just wearing blazers over dresses, i also happen to think they look adorable with jeans, or even one of my previous trends, jeggings. I don't know how mens blazers manage to look good, especially with such feminine trends like dresses, but in my opinion, they sure do! In the case of mens blazers, whoever thought of this menswear trend is a genius. Plus, stealing clothes from your boyfriend or brother will save you loads of money!

Another huge menswear trend  that I seem to see over and over again is the infamous boyfriend jean. They've been around for quite sometime now, and I've seen them in dozens of stores at the mall. I kind of feel as though this trend is similar to what O said about the jegging trend: you have to have the right body to pull them off. Personally, I have long, skinny legs and boyfriend jeans do NOT look good. I've tried on dozens of pairs, but instead of looking stylish, they just look like I bought jeans that were three sizes too big. Don't get me wrong, I've seen plenty of girls wear this trend and pull it off great. However, boyfriend jeans are just not for everyone.

Animal Print

So heres something i've been seeing for a while now: Animal print. I see it everywhere, on anything from shirts to shoes to dresses to jewelry to handbags to pretty much anything you can slap a print on! I've even seen people with cheetah printed nails! And according to all the websites, animal print is most definitely in style once again this fall.

One thing i happen to find interesting about animal print is that its not only traditional cheetah, zebra, or leopard print. I've been colored animal print: pink cheetah, purple zebra, blue leopard, every color of the rainbow! And celebrities have been wearing these animal prints left and right, but unlike a lot of celeb trends, i see this one in my everyday life. One major thing that comes to mind is all the animal print prom dresses that i saw dozens of girls wearing last spring. One of the girls in my class even had leopard printed makeup on her face!
Although i personally have no intention of wearing animal printed makeup, except maybe for Halloween, i am all for animal print. And recently i've been seeing these actual animals on the shirts, like in this picture:

Although animal print has been around for years, nowadays everyone is wearing it, even if its only in the slightest detail, like a handbag or headband. One of my favorite items in my closet are cheetah heels! So basically, this trends popularity is far from fading, so expect to see cheetahs, zebras, and leopards galore at your favorite store!

Jeggings

What exactly is this new trend known as Jeggings that is sweeping the nation? We see celebrities wear them, we see people at the mall wearing them, we even see students around the college campus wearing them. But how did these become so popular? All the well- known, middle-class stores carry this new trend. American Eagle, Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, Old Navy, Macy's, Kohls, JCPenny, etc., etc., etc. They're everywhere!
Here's a brief history: Jeggings are defined as 'leggings made to resemble denim jeans.' They started to become popular with the resurgence of the skinny jean in the earlier 2000s. Unlike leggings, which are primarily used to wear under dresses, skirts, or tunics, jeggings are made to resemble jeans, and can be worn with pretty much anything you'd wear regular jeans with.
It's pretty easy to figure out why this new trend is so popular. Jeans can be so uncomfortable, and sometimes you just have those days when you're not in the mood to wear them. So throw on a pair of skinny jeans and you'll be just as stylish but twice as comfy! Does this make sense to you? Because it sure does to me. However, there is a downfall to jeggings. Since jeggings are pretty much equivalent to wearing leggings, not everyone has the body type to pull them off. So just a word of advice: If you don't have the legs to pull them off, don't wear them!
So how long will these jeggings be around? Well, when the skinny jeans first reemerged earlier in the decade, they received mixed reviews. Personally i did not care for them in the slightest. But they slowly caught on, and now everyone is seen wearing them (including me!). Leggings have pretty much always been around whether they were for working out or keeping your legs warm and cozy under your favorite dress. So my prediction: this wave of jeggings should stick around for a long time to come.
